Epicurean
Epicurean: ep?i?cu?re?an adj.
1: of Epicurus or epicureanism; "Epicurean philosophy" (read up on it, it's quite interesting actually)
2: devoted to pleasure; "a hedonic thrill"; "lives of unending hedonistic delight"; (basically, the reason we chose our name)
3 : n. furnishing gratification of the senses, especially good food and drink. (now who doesn't enjoy good food?)
4 : a melodic dark metal (not black metal) band striving to create a unique niche in the crowded metal scene. The focus is to create a sense of wonder, all while delivering a palette of distinguished beauty and cacophonous rage, while being insistent upon melodicism and aggression, both light and shade, day and night.
Examining fear and wonder, in both trial and tribulation, leads one down the lyrical path of Epicurean. Ambiguity is present, although if you search deep enough, you will find a topical nature underneath it all.
The focus is to create a melting pot of metal, with an all encompassing nature that promotes diversity, melody, and a hint of intellectualism. Intense shows, calculated musicianship, and focused energy all combine to create the essence of Epicurean.
