PTI
Arising from the newly resurgent Chicago electro/EBM scene is the highly touted and energetic duo known as PTI. Consisting of Eric Dusik and Phil Fox, the two have been creating a signature sound and redefining a style of club music that has dominated the international scene since the late ‘80s and early ‘90s. Building on the success of their first two club hits "Icons" and "Alysium," from their self released debut SOS. PTI made and even bigger statement in October with the release of their full-length debut, Blackout. Sonically, PTI's diversity can be found in their delivery, blending melodic and aggressive vocals styles with heavy synth lines, driving beats and layers of intricate programming. PTI's overall energy and style can only be compared to the bands that once dominated the EBM genre like Front242, Nitzer Ebb, and other Wax Trax! type artists.
"Databass" is the first single taken from Blackout and its infectious groove and driving beat has already made this track a club staple. This spring PTI will release Exhaust which is the remix companion to Blackout. Complete with one new song and numerous remixes, Exhaust will be solid enough to stand on its own. Be forewarned as the future of EBM has arrived in the form of PTI.
