MataHari

Passion. Intrigue. Sensuality. Supernova rock and roll. There isn't much that you could look for in a rock band that rising musical power MataHari doesn't have, and have in spades. Exploding into music like a rock and roll bullet, the modern musical special forces known as MataHari can do in days what takes others years, and bring their audiences to secret places that pop/punk fans never even knew existed. Their mission: to make everyone and everything rock until the whole world feels it, and then push the groove even harder. There's no use in trying to stop them: resistance is no fun. Besides, who would want to? These are the good guys, and the good guys always kick ass.

MataHari took the stage of music in 2003, when guitarist Shaun Michaud found the answer to his prayers literally under his feet in a flyer for Czech vocal wonder Ivona Coufalova, and realized that his music finally had a pad for launch. Joining with bassist Frank Couture and drummer Chris Anderson of the band Jera, Shaun and Ivona completed the quartet of mystery that would soon be christened with the name that has become synonymous with international intrigue and clever conspiracy. Conspiring only to rock, and to rock every audience with them, MataHari began work on and released their debut self-titled album in just under a year, showing all the skill and know-how of a time-seasoned band with a first shot that was dead on the mark.

Born in Boston, MataHari has become a fixture in the area, always a favorite at clubs like Sky Bar and the Kirkland Cafe, steamrolling through the scene faster than any other independent act. Well known for their organic blend of driving rock that pulls influences from punk, pop, and electronica, the group gives a new face to music, much in the same fashion of earlier acts like No Doubt and Garbage. Loaded with a full arsenal of songs that range from the dark and driving to the upbeat and intense, MataHari has the perfect tool for any audience, complete with an electrifying self-run stage show that always leaves crowds crying for more.

Now that MataHari has turned their music on an unsuspecting world, the fires that shot up in audiences from all over are impossible to put out: but everyone is too busy rocking to care! With a sense of adventure and style that sets them apart from the rest, this special team of modern music visionaries has what it takes to fight all the way to the top and take the reigns of kick-ass rock and roll. Always expanding, with talent to spare, MataHari is a band to keep your eye on, or they'll find you. You can't escape from rock!
