Code Black

Pairing the precision of metal with the aggression of modern hardcore, Burlington, VT based Code Black merge new school dynamics with American thrash metal elements. Recorded at Studio Victor in Montreal/Canada and produced by Jean-Francois Dagenais, best known for his outstanding work with Kataklysm, Malevolent Creation, and Misery Index, the new album Penetration leaves no questions unanswered.

With relentless guitars, merciless drum assaults, and intricate leads, the band merges the genres of heavy music, paying tribute to their metal roots while simultaneously living up to the high-energy aggression of their hardcore past. Penetration will attack with deadly precision. 12 tracks penetrate with extreme heaviness and brutal energy, creating a ferocious and intense sonic catharsis. Artwork duties were executed by Travis Smith/Seempieces.

The line-up consists of Mark Wolzenburg on guitars (former Colour Trip), Gary Williams on drums and Shaun Varney on bass, both from the New England hardcore veterans 5 Seconds Expired, and Rorri Quero on vocals, who has been active in the New England metal scene for over a decade.

The U.S. release is scheduled for July 27, 2004 through Arctic Music Group. The album will be distributed through Candlelight Records/Caroline. The European release is scheduled for August 30, 2004 through Twilight Distribution.
