Beat The Bone

Their name comes from a beloved childhood pet parrot that would sometimes get angry and agitated, taking it out on a toy bone placed in his cage. Also feeling frustrated awaiting for something bigger and better to happen, two San Bernardino, CA brothers, who are former members of LA Riot, realized they had a different musical vision and took matters seriously through the formation of post-grunge sensation Beat The Bone.

BTB is a heavy melodic rock band incorporating '80s and '90s rock with today's nü metal hard rock sound enhanced by their talent and supplemented by their youthful charming looks and magnificent stage presence giving them a mystic yet approachable already celebrated local celebrity connection. Being instantly likable, personable, and friendly has enabled Beat The Bone to have a continuously increased fan base wherever they've been heard or seen.

Beat The Bone has been influenced by bands such as Ozzy Osbourne, Iron Maiden (who the Nottke brothers incidentally toured with), and Judas Priest along with coming from a musical family in which the Nottke's grandfather played the saxophone during the big band era. Beat The Bone has been compared in the press to hard rock and heavy metal legends including: Godsmack, Alice In Chains, Disturbed, Megadeth, Prong, System Of A Down, and Drowning Pool.

Ray Nottke: lead vocals, bass guitar; Lew Nottke: guitar, backup vocals; and newcomer Ray Seese: drums and percussion are the popular powerful trio Beat The Bone that sells out both arenas and merchandise with a natural ease at the blink of an eye with their music touching the audience's soul. With national radio play and a major SFX Entertainment (Clear Channel) tour under their belt, by invitation of Scott Davis and Levi's sponsorship,"BTB has already opened up for Iron Maiden, Queensryche, and Robert Halford. Back home in California, the band have shared the stage with several national acts including L.A. Guns, Brother Cane, Jackyl, Mr. Big, Gene Loves Jezebel, Dokken, and Warrant.

Spending a year in Utah resulted in solid preparation for Beat The Bone's highly acclaimed 2003 Sycolewn Records release Naked, which was dedicated to the memory of their father Lew Nottke, Sr. Naked has resulted in bringing BTB further national exposure accompanied by nothing less than excellent reviews across the country. No stone was left unturned in the production of Naked with important industry figures being brought to the table. Naked is produced by Ronan Chris Murphy, Darrell Ashley, and Beat The Bone, engineered by Darrell Ashley of Studio Nine (Pomona, CA), mixed by Ronan Chris Murphy of Veneto West (Marina Del Rey, CA), and mastered by Barry Corliss of Master Works (Seattle, WA). No vital expense was denied in Naked's creation with the result being a high quality professional CD enhanced by uniqueness with vibrant emotional lyrics accompanied by excellent instrumental. Featuring hit tracks such as the title cut "Naked," "Fallen," "High Enough," and "Dream Away" touches relationship issues and life in general with hints of being true to yourself and keeping spirits alive.
