The Kickz

Activate Me is the follow up to the debut single "Down & Out" by this young and upcoming Dallas, Texas band. While three of the four members are still in high school, their influences come from their parent's generation. Main songwriter Ian MacDougal found his dad's Clash, NY Dolls, Generation X, and Replacement records and was hooked. The playing is top-notch, raw yet very melodic, and years beyond the age of the members. Taking the aggression of early Clash and SLF with the pop sense of Generation X with the reckless youthfullness of early Replacements, The Kickz give us a sound that is very much 2004! This EP is a prelude to their forthcoming full-length and is sure to turn some heads and open some ears!
