Historically speaking, early '80s style Boston hardcore (SS Decontrol, DYS, the FU's) and 1970s classic rock (AC/DC, Led Zepplin, Thin Lizzy) have gelled together with luke warm-to-embarrasingly awful results. With the benefit of hindsight Central Mass' R.'N'R. successfully mold together the realness, power, and aggression of early hardcore punk with the catchiness, swagger and big riffing of the very best rock n' roll.
