Midway

Midway is a female-fronted, 5-person band manufacturing a high-energy blend of pop-rock, punk and new wave. Midway's live-show will karate-chop you in the gut!!! Crowd-surfing, amp wrestling, robots, pogo-sticking, and rock 'n roll dodge-ball, the Midway Madness is ridiculously entertaining AND contagious…

In 2002, four friends (Kevin from the band Superglue, Josh from the band Sticker, Emily from The Pushstars, and Jason from the band Uncle Voltron) found themselves writing some silly songs inspired by goofy things like robots, Pacman, Knight Rider, hobos, snake charmers, A-Team, internet love matches, and rocket ships to the moon. Assuming the band name, Midway, paying homage to the video game giant who subtly influenced their music, they booked their first show with NO singer at Los Angeles' underground music epicenter, Mr. T's Bowl. Midway had no clue that they would pack the club on their first show without a singer…

After meeting singer, Theresa, at a party, Midway began the booking machine playing all over the So. California area and touring to the East Coast in October of 2003. When Josh left the band to pursue his career in audio engineering, Sean (from the band Arlo) contacted them and offered to fill in for a while. Sean enjoyed the live-show mayhem so much, he decided to stick with Midway full time!

"Midway is perfect pop. That's what I've decided after last night. They've got catchy guitar parts, incredibly infectious keyboard melodies, and really fun, poppy vocal melodies and lyrics. I mean, what more could you ask for? In addition, the band members always seem to be having a ridiculously good time on stage. Just their stage-demeanor is infectious. I can tell you this because I've seen the crowd transformed by it. They go rabid. It's hilarious."
