Daisycutter
Daisycutter began in Boston during the cold winter of 2001, down in Scott's Music Lane Studios. Deep into the night, Scott and friends worked and worked, and slowly forged the Daisycutter sound.
Lead singer and principle songwriter Scott Matalon is a graduate of the New England Conservatory of Music with Distinction in Performance, and is one of this venerable institution's 100 Top Alumni of all time, and is a computer guru who programs the band's synthesizer parts and and the bands's laser lights shows.
Mike D is known throughout New England for his stellar and super-tasty electric guitar playing in legendary bands such as The Hangovers, Dead Game Dog, and many others. Once a real shredder, Mike has joined Daisycutter in their quest for awesome, rocking riffs and great tunes.
Craig Matalon is a rock drummer straight up from New York. Craig is formerly the drummer for Perseverance and has toured the U.S. and Canada many times playing opening sets for hardcore legends Biohazard, Tree, and others.
It has long been a dream of the Matalon brothers to work together, and they have that special simpatico that only close family members can enjoy - and it shows in the tightness of the music and the clarity of the band's vision.
Paul Green is the latest addition to the band, taking the rhythm section from it's R&B roots into the modern age. Lean, clean and mean, Paul has tons of experience playing all over New England and is a hard-working match for strongman Craig.
Daisycutter released an eponymously titled debut EP in March of 2004, which debuted at #4 at WBRS at Brandeis, and has played on more than 100 radio stations, including the #11 slot for 5 weeks at KVCH San Jose and #21 for 5 weeks at KSOC!
