Corkskrew

Take them anywhere - Corkskrew will gravitate back to the sun-drenched Mediterranean island of Malta.

There they enjoy considerable fan following, TV presence, and radio airplay. With their upbeat electronica-laced rock tunes, Corkskrew will always deliver a show with cool, punch, and attitude, as they do regularly under Malta's night sky.

In June 2002, they let off their first album Micromania to highly expectant Maltese fans, propelling the island band to new heights, and becoming one of the most requested live acts in Malta with invitations to open for some of the largest stars that have recently spared themselves the moment to be Maltesed.

In June 2002, Corkskrew electrified the crowd in preparation for Faithless. A year later, in July 2003, they got the proceedings going for Sir Elton John.

Internationally, Corkskrew's music has been played extensively on radio stations on both sides of the Atlantic - in the U.S. as well as in Europe (mainly Germany, Austria and the UK).

Corkskrew have scooped the Best Soundtrack Award in the New York Independent Film Festival 2001 and the Los Angeles Film Festival 2001, having contributed six tracks to Malta-produced movie Genesis. Corkskrew will be touring Austria in April 2004. Corkskrew are Diane Micallef (vocals), Lincoln Spiteri (guitars/keys), Cliff Smith (bass), Franco Aloisio (drums)
