Voodoo Organist
Wexton's music has been described as "Tom Waits meets the Cramps" and as a "necromantic Beck." His debut CD Exotic Demonic Blues, released in 2001, has received airplay on at least 12 college radio stations, including KXLU in Los Angeles and KFAI in Minneapolis. Wexton's fanbase continues to grow due to his unique sound and constant touring. The press has been quick to embrace him too; he has received press in over 30 different newspapers and magazines across the country. The Las Vegas Mercury gave his first album 4 out of 5 stars calling it "the year's premier bizarro exotica record." Rue Morgue Magazine gave Exotic Demonic Blues 5 out of 5 stars: "Earthly comparisons would include Screamin' Jay Hawkins, Tom Waits, and maybe the Residents, but I prefer to think of this guy as a disembodied essence from the planet Cool, sent down to inflict mass grooviness upon the terminally dull with his one man tiki terror tunes."
The Return of the Voodoo Organist delivers 13 explosive, exotic songs that blur the lines between punk rock, gospel and rockabilly. Suggested cuts include "Breakdown 2003," "Pitchfork Man," and "Crash and Burn."
