Totimoshi

"They are a genre unto themselves... they are to rock and roll what William 'Refrigerator' Perry was to runningbacks"
-Jack Rabid/Big Take Over

Totimoshi was formed by singer/songwriter/guitarist Tony Aguilar and bassist Meg Castellanos in Nov. '97, with drummer Don Newenhouse joining the band in June 2001. Touring constantly across the U.S., they've gained a strong loyal following due to their innovative approach to heavy music.

"This is the most unique CD I've ever been sent... fresh new ideas in music" abrasiverock.com

"It's not punk, it's not metal, but it weighs a ton" Hit List Magazine

"The musical structure as well as the lyrics are deep, thick, complex and interwoven; Totimoshi has put together something special here" whitetrashdevil.com

Hailing from Oakland, CA, they now have three releases under their belt: 1999's S/T CD, Mysterioso? (Crucial Blast 2002), and Monoli (This Dark Reign 2003). They've worked with acclaimed producers Billy Anderson (Mr. Bungle, Fantomas, Sleep, Neurosis), Alex Newport (At the Drive In, Melvins), and our own Don Newenhouse (Jonathan Richman, Holly Golightly, Coachwhips).

In the closing of 2002, Totimoshi was found on the year's best Top 10 lists of Relapse Records' Resound Magazine, stonerrockchick.com, and whitetrashdevil.com, and in May 2003, was chosen as Best Rock Band in California's East Bay Express.

Touring highlights have included headlining the Emissions and Stoner Hands of Doom Festivals, and sharing the stage with such bands as the Melvins, Folk Implosion, High on Fire, Nebula, Helios Creed, Saccharine Trust, Mastodon, Unsane, Electric Wizard, and Oxbow. They've received critical acclaim for their releases and live shows as well as airplay in Europe, Canada, Australia, Brazil, Cuba, and many US college stations.

Upon returning from their Fall 2003 tour, they will begin shooting their first music video with director Cale Bunker (Alabama Thunderpussy, Fatso Jetson, Brant Bjork).

Totimoshi continues to carve out it's own path with it's explosive performances, dark emotive lyrics, and hypnotic sound. It is the sound of things to come, and truly a force to be reckoned with.
