Map
Map is the brainchild of singer/songwriter Josh Dooley who has been creating some of the most intricate dreampop songs since early 2000. Since their inception, Map's clean sound has found them playing alongside bands such as Damien Jurado, Death Cab for Cutie, Pinback, One Line Drawing, and The Sea and Cake. In addition to Map, Dooley has played in Starflyer 59 and currently plays with Fine China and Pony Express.
Although the band has flown under the radar for quite awhile, the past year alone has seen Map tour the U.S. several times, garner critical acclaim and gather a loyal following. Dooley's new album, Secrets by the Highway, was produced by Frank Lenz (the Lassie Foundation) along with Richard Swift. On Secrets by the Highway, Dooley maintains his atmospheric shoegaze sound along with definitive guitar style.
Here are a few of the press clips sounded off on Map's behalf:
"Map makes beautiful, relaxing, intricate nostalgia-pop that runs somewhere along the lines of The Autumns, Mogwai, and Belle and Sebastian" MeanStreet
"Map writes intricate dream-pop songs that scream summertime love..in a David Lynch kinda way" Lollipop
