The Afflictions

The Afflictions formed in Chicago in August 2000. We're a Rock 'n' Roll band more or less. Guitar, keyboards, sax, drums, vocals. No bass, but we're thinking of adding tuba. We've been playing out since November of 2001, in Chicago and other parts of the Midwest and Eastern States. We've been referred to as "a swarm of bees with a beat" and "white music for black people" (hard to explain but fun to repeat). A helpful fan has said we sounded like the Contortions if they'd been obsessed with ? & the Mysterians instead of James Brown.

The Afflictions made The Peotone EP in the summer of 2002. It is our debut release and is available from Captain Spazz Records, a new label from Chicago.
