The Fonzarellies

The Fonzarellies are busy putting the ROCK back into punk rock. Their catchy songs pay homage to their roots in ’80s-flavored rock’n’roll, while appealing to fans of current pop punk. The band comes from the burgeoning music town of Omaha, Nebraska, where they dominate the local punk scene and radio waves and have played with bands like AFI, The Queers, Dillinger Four, and Lucky Boys Confusion. They joined the Nice Guy family in 2001, releasing their Beautiful EP. Since then, they have played a Warped Tour date two years straight, continued to tour regionally, and were featured on Interpunk.com. A wildly entertaining live show adds to the package. "On stage they play off each other, bouncing off the drum platform like skateboarders doing tricks, saluting each other, leaning their backs against each other, even performing the occasional back flip," reports a feature article in the Omaha World Herald. In September 2001, The Fonzarellies went back into the studio and recorded 13 new songs. The songwriting has reached a new level. Imagine 13 of your favorite hair-rock songs, but done tastefully! In a time when every emerging pop punk band sounds like New Found Glory, Saves the Day, or a combination of these, The Fonzarellies are a very welcome listen.
