Stereotyperider

Stereotyperider formed in 1999, due to the break-up of two veteran Arizona based bands, Mandingo and Adams Alcoholics. Having gathered all their previous experiences, they made the decision to take this band to the next level. They started writing songs that did not sound like anyone else, songs that were melodic but had the power and heaviness to distinguish them from other bands. They began playing locally and gathered enough songs to record an EP. The EP featured eight songs that rode the fence of melody and aggression. MaximumRockNRoll wrote "...The guitars ring out and bleed, blurring the edges of the songs. The rhythm section seems to be bent on revolution and there are some moments where the perfect match of vocal harmonies and guitar slashes prove potent."

Stereotyperider did some regional touring in support of the EP, playing shows with bands like Suicide Machines, Ensign, Arlo, Recover, The Gamits, and more. In Arizona, they have supported every band from The International Noise Conspiracy to Hot Water Music. They recently recorded 12 songs with Matt VanLeuvan (The Gamits, Planes Mistaken For Stars). When we heard the songs, we told the band that we had to release their album. Same Chords, Same Songs, Same Six Strings picks up where their last EP left off, but the new album finds the band defining themselves even further. Their sound defies comparison, but it can be said that fans of any genre will fall in love with Stereotyperider.

Stereotyperider recently did an East Coast and Midwest tour with Fearless Recording artist, Bigwig. The tour went so well that Bigwig has asked Stereotyperider to do a West Coast and Canadian tour in the near future. The guys will be hitting the road hard in support of the new album. There really is no stopping Stereotyperider once this album is released and it won’t be long til the boys from Phoenix are a household name.
