Single Bullet Theory
Some bands complain about the lack of places to play or how record companies wont give them the time of day. Others get off their ass and do something about it. Philadelphia-based Single Bullet Theory are determined to forge a path on their own terms.
The band is comprised of Matt Difabio (Pissing Razors) on guitar and lead vox, Billy Mex (ex-Seven Witches) on bass, Doug Rush on guitar, and Johnny Sasso behind the kit. The bands passion for the road runs very deep. For example, in 2000, with only a self-financed EP, SBT hit the road, twice, for weeks at a time, including an impressive month-long, ten-state tour. With the help of Devil Saint Booking and having corresponded with local bands across America, the Bullets shared stages down South, in Oklahoma & Texas, throughout the Midwest, and as far West as Kansas City, MO. After developing these contacts and proving that the band will put its money where it mouth is, SBT has now successfully done five U.S. tours since then (including an impressive month-long jaunt with Soilwork, Hypocrisy, and Killswitch Engage). Raging in at over 180 shows nationally, SBT has become a live act that is second to none.
SBTs music is a crushing blend of solid aggressive fury and passionate emotion. With no two songs sounding the same, SBT has deftly woven a sonic tapestry of musical colors capable of satisfying even the most jaded metal fans. The bands approach to songwriting gives them the extra "hook" while still maintaining the brutality that is needed in todays genre. Influences ranging from blinding black metal to classic power metal combines with the added flair of todays aggro-core metal makes the band a truly unique and unstoppable machine.
SBTs latest disc, Route 666 (Crash Music Inc.) debuts Matt Difabio as the groups vocalist, and the subject matter explores the dark reality that the world creates for itself. Rape, murder, depression, suicide, abuse, catastrophic events... all the goodies are present. The record was recorded during a six month period, the vocal production as well as the final mix comes from none other then James Murphy (Testament, Obituary, Death, guitarist) and was completed at the Underworld Studio in Haverstraw, NY. April 22, 03 will mark the debut release of Route 666. Look for the bullets crisscrossing their way across America in 2003.
Now its time for the world to hear the deadly sound of a single bullet.
