Sadaharu
Sadaharu began playing together in late september of 1999... when Lancaster County noise-rock band The Eighteenandahalfminutegap lost their drummer, a search was on for a replacement. The search eventually yielded Angelo, having recently parted ways with his previous band. After a few short weeks, another member of "The Gap" left for sunny Portland, Oregon, and Angelo quickly shuffled in his brother Mike, having played together in numerous bands over the years.
With this chemestry, the foursome began writing the songs that would eventually become their first CD. Barely two months after coming together, the somewhat mismatched group took the moniker of "Sadaharu" and played their first show in the college town of Kutztown, Pennsylvania at a bar called Basin Street.
Decked out in black from head to toe, like some manner of burgler, brandishing guitars and amplifiers whose size was far too excessive for a room of its size, the foursome exploded into a short four-song set which coalesced in glasses, quite literally, shattering on the bar.
The band took a break in early 2000, barely four months after forming, to record their first CD, Punishment in Hi-Fi (an audio boxing match in which the listener is the loser) at On Track studios in East Stroudsburg, PA.
The CD was self-releasd in June of 2000, and was used as a springboard for things to come.
Since then, Sadaharu has hit the road as often as possible, cramming as many shows as they could into their busy scheduals, often to great praise for their live show antics, and their absolute insistance that the crowd "get sexy!"
Recently, theyve begun the writing process for what will eventually coalesce into their next release.
