Fixer

Like its throwback name, the hard rock outfit Fixer defies ordinary categorization. If it were 1986, perhaps Fixer would be vying for the title of grittiest undiscovered hair-band. But trapped in the downtown New York City circuit of the early 21st Century, the foursome delivers a unique brand of high-energy melodic rock that sets it apart from the pack of seedy club regulars.

In 2000, two pairs of old friends and bandmates came together to form Fixer. Evan R. Saffer, a magnetic frontman with incorrigible rock-star energy and the pipes to match, had played with bassist J Brown since 1997, while drummer Diamond Tim Newton and lead guitarist Wilson Lihn had spent the years since 1995 crawling around the New York City circuit together. Once they all joined forces, Fixer’s fate was sealed.

The four components have since melded seamlessly to create a rare musical force propelled by equal parts talent and old-fashioned showmanship. Evan has forged a reputation for mesmerizing crowds with his electrifying voice and charismatic presence, and backed by a tight ensemble featuring fiery guitar riffs, solos, atomic drumming, and virtuoso bass playing, Fixer regularly astonishes all in attendance. With top-notch musicianship at every position, diverse songwriting skills that reflect their varied musical backgrounds, and lyrics that recount tales of desperation, bitterness tinged with hope, and the unquiet mind trapped in society, Fixer delivers an explosive blend of charged, atmospheric rock that manages to be simultaneously catchy and corrupt. Bill Aucoin, former manager of KISS and Billy Idol, summed it up best: "The return of rock and roll. Fresh off recording the Bend EP with producer Jason Corsaro (Queen, Soundgarden, Buckcherry, Madonna), Fixer continues to tour up and down the East Coast. Finding and nurturing contacts daily through the Internet, and focusing on teenage rock shows up and down the East Coast, Fixer has developed a devoted fan base, buoyed by promotional teams that have sprung up in New York, Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware, California, United Kingdom, France, Italy and Indonesia. Fixer has received and continues to build their exposure with popular press, and most recently the group out-performed hundreds of bands as a participant of Guitar World’s Musicians and Emerging Artists of New York Festival.
