The Boss Martians
The Boss Martians were formed in Seattle, WA, in 1994 by core members, singer/guitarist/songwriter Evan Foster and organ/piano player Nick Contento. They released four records on Dionysus Records. In early 2001, the Boss Martians signed with MuSick Recordings and Foster began writing and preparing material for their next full-length recording. After hearing demos of this new material, MuSick honcho, Art Bourasseau, flipped and decided to enlist the services of Supersuckers/Young Fresh Fellows producer Johnny Sangster and recording began at Egg Studios in Seattle. The Egg studio sessions with Sangster produced the album Making the Rounds. Twelve amazing rock'n'roll songs that bring the "Martian Sound" to its highest level: Loud, vibrant, rocking. Songs such as "Something's There," with its nod to Humble Pie, the bold melodic sense of the pop anthem "Feel it Like Everyone," the classic Northwest/Sonics vibe of "She Was the One," the all out garage-punk assault of "She Moves Me," and the explosive title track prove that the Boss Martians are a rock'n'roll band in the truest sense. With Making the Rounds and their incendiary live show (you gotta see it to believe it!), the Boss Martians are ready to kick rock'n'roll in the ass (yup!). "Martian Rock," indeed!!
