The Adventures of Jet
The Adventures of Jet formed in 1998 when the founding members of the Dallas, Texas-based, BOBGOBLIN decided to make rock n roll music. Under a new moniker, the group produced the critically acclaimed CD, "Part 3: Coping With Insignificance." The collection of songs on "Coping," inspired by the songwriters journeys through the dark tunnels of the corporate music business. With "Coping," The AOJ took the synth and vocal orchestrations, their range with complex subject matter, and their ability to paint large and loud canvases of rock. They were beginning to create a musical environment that could ultimately be called their own. The record was praised from Dallas to Germany, with reviewers who came in contact with it putting it on the list of their top records of 2000 and unleashing the kind of praises only reserved for a select few records. With the standard of "Part 3: Coping with Insignificance" having been set, The Adventures of Jet present their second release, "Muscle." Inspired partly by the almost forgotten sub-genre of car songs, "Muscle" takes The AOJ down that conceptual road again, with each song either making a faint reference to a particular kind of classic muscle car, or a reference to the odd combination of aggressive yet carefree environments in which they roamed. However, muscle cars only serve as tangible connections to the records true theme: Its an empty feeling to think that the greatest of your days may be in the past, but the effort to hold on to them and the struggle to make them part of your future can be exhilarating, even if hopeless. The CD, recorded and produced by lead singer and keyboardist Hop Litzwire, will be released by Suburban Home Records. Coinciding with the early Spring release of "Muscle," the group plans to hit the road and blanket the US, and wherever else AOJ followers await.
