The Spitfires

Dear________________ (fill in the blank with title of your choosing),

OK, I know what you’re thinking, another stupid bio. But let me assure you dear reader, that the purpose of this bio is not to have it used for litterbox lining, but to acknowledge a band that will change your life, if not at least for the next few moments, but (to paraphrase Homer J. Simpson) forever, forever, forever...

I know they certainly changed mine. From the minute they take the stage in your town, my town, or any town for that matter, The Spitfires clue in the clueless, give meaning to the meaningless, and speech to the speechless when the first chords are struck and the cry of "Let’s Rock ‘N’ Roll!" pierces the smoke-filled air. For that is what the Spitfires do, nay, that is what they ARE: Rock And Roll. A virtual avalanche of shows (with heavyweights like The New Bomb Turks, Murder City Devils, Supersuckers, et al.) under their six-year old belts in various locales nationwide is proof of that. As well, a bonafide catalog of hits graces their musical resume from labels like Junk, Estrus, Devil Doll, and now their new home at Longshot Music. Which brings us to the matter at hand, why you are reading this press junket in the first place. With the release of their latest testament to long, sweaty nights of punk rock revelry still ahead, (entitled Three), these five young lads from Vancouver, B.C. weaned on cheap beer, The Dead Boys and a knack for incendiary live shows can only hope, nay, INSIST that you book them in your dives, spin their records at your radio stations, and sing along with reckless abandon to THE sounds of Rock And Roll-The Spitfires.

Sincerely,
A Spitfires Fan
