December Wolves
"This is an all-out, teeth-rattling, pornographic death-grind holocaust: drum machines rattle at a ludicrous speed, razor-wire guitar riffs spit and scrape, and demonic vocals howl out some of the darkest and most unnerving lyrics youll hear in a long time. The songs are endlessly inventive, with constant tempo shifts and vast swathes of hallucinatory noise. The results are never less than utterly compelling." -Kerrang!
Bostons December Wolves return after a long, mysterious hiatus, with the most horrific album of the year. Prepare for a psychotropic assault on the senses, an ultraviolent pastiche of savage Black Metal, blistering noise, and mind-altering experimentation. Welcome to Blasterpiece Theatre...
Theres dangerous minds at work in the December Wolves camp, which may go some way to explaining why it took the band three years to complete their new opus Blasterpiece Theatre. Another reason for the delay might be the ambitious nature of the record itself, which shows the band expanding their sound exponentially and leading the listener through a labyrinth of sonic horror unlike anything ever heard before. Blasterpiece Theatre is certainly one sick album, a relentless barrage of desperation and depravity that transcends all boundaries and negates all hope. The eleven tracks that comprise Blasterpiece Theatre play like a collage of nightmares - a writhing mass of eerie samples, drums at the speed of light, and the raw, thrashing riffage that defined December Wolves 1998 Wicked World debut, Completely Dehumanized. Imagine Cadaver Inc remixed by John Wayne Gacy. This is the next level of extremism. This is not easy listening.
