Will Haven
Hailing from Phil Jacksons favorite "Cow Town" Sacramento, CA, comes a band that is more powerful and intimidating than Jacksons Los Angeles Lakers. This band is Will Haven. They have been laying waste to cities across the US and Europe like an F 5 tornado. How good is Will Haven? Just ask big names such as Limp Bizkit, Deftones, Slipknot, Fear Factory and Soulfly whom have proudly taken Will Haven across the country.
In the summer of 1995, three best friends set out to change the face of heavy music. Their first release El Diablo came out of nowhere, putting music critics and college radio stations into a frenzy. Reaching #5 on the CMJ Loud Rock Charts and #1 at Hits magazine. Publications such as Kerrang! and Metal Hammer were also giving it musical praise. Touring for a year straight in the US and Europe with bands such as Deftones and Limp Bizkit was just adding fuel to the fire. The band then followed up with their sophomore album WHVN which was also welcomed with open arms. Hitting #1 on the CMJ loud rock charts and receiving rave reviews from the critics for their originality, bands like Slipknot and Fear Factory were now becoming fans.
The music world is now bracing itself for what Will Haven is about to offer. Their third hard hitting album entitled Carpe Diem is scheduled to be released this summer and is likely to change heavy music as we know it. Will Havens music cannot be described, its emotion and power is something that you can only feel. The pounding rhythm section of bassist Mike Martin and drummer Mitch Wheeler makes the perfect background for Jeff Irwins godlike guitars. The surreal voice of front man Grady Avenell adds the powerful emotion to compliment his poetic lyrics. This is what you will find on Carpe Diem, honest, emotional, passionate songs that cannot be matched by any other. Let this be a warning to the storm forthcoming.
