Can you remember when punk rock was about annihilating authority and living without a care in the world, being young, rejecting society and spitting in the face of conformity? When living to the fullest didn’t include a brand new SUV and wasting your life in-between a cell phone and computer? River City Rebels will take you back to a time when punks were punks and good times were simply good times. Their sophomore release, Playing to Live, Living to Play will bring you back to the days when The Sex Pistols reigned and Iggy Pop was a God.

In just a year the River City Rebels have transformed themselves from a rag-tag bunch of unknown Vermont kids to a driving force in the punk scene of today. Their youthful sound and utter disdain for the system is beyond contagious. Their debut release, Racism, Religion, and War was released in late August of 2000. Before the CD was even released the Rebels were added to the Midwest leg of the Less Than Jake summer tour. The Rebels gained the instant acceptance of Less Than Jake fans across the Midwest. They have quickly built up a core following of diehard fans.

Here it is, exactly one year later and the River City Rebels are ready to unleash a stronger, more mature sound on Playing to Live, Living to Play. They have stomped out all of the obstacles that have stood in their way and have a clear path in front of them. When all is said and done, throngs of people around the world will be singing the hymn and praises of the River City Rebels for decades to come. The Rebels are here to stay.
