Garrison
Obsessive-compulsive? Overwhelmed with this ordinary life? Feeling sinister? You are not alone. Join Garrison, a four piece band from Boston, with a penchant for crime and deviance. Since their inception in 1998 Garrison has been setting the independent music world on its ear with songs and a live performance exploding with energy, intelligence, and spite. Their new album entitled Be A Criminal surpasses all previous efforts with its surgical focus and sonic clarity.
Producer J. Robbins (Jawbox/ Burning Airlines) assisted in capturing the pop sense and eloquence of Garrisons newest material while retaining the bite and edge of their live sound. Observe the meshing of vibrant distorted guitars, machine-like drumming, and rich vocals that establish the feel and thrust of the record.
Lyrically, Be a Criminal explores a darker side of the human psyche and also the intentional or unintentional crimes people can commit against each other on a daily basis. With song topics ranging from large scale monoculture to petty theft, intellectual crimes to prostitution, Garrison covers a wide variety of lyrical ground while keeping a keen pop/rock sense akin to The Pixies and P.J. Harvey or even more recent Drive like Jehu and early Radiohead.
Garrison will be touring relentlessly for this new record with bookings already established for full US and European tours. Listen to what is sure to become a landmark within the independent music scene.
