The Covert Agency

What began as a musical experiment in the basement of a tattoo parlor in eastern PA during the summer of 99' has since developed into an intricate collaboration of sounds and ideas. The Covert Agency, which consists of Clint Weiler (drums and vocals), Tim Martinkovitch (guitar and vocals), and Mike Varga (bass and vocals) released their debut LP entitled 010 in September of 2000, but the track featured on this comp (File 20) was released on their second release: a self-titled EP.

The Covert Agency is influenced by many bands but their sound is unique. From indiscriminate tempo changes, to wailing guitar harmonic compositions and bass fluctuations, The Covert Agency has put together a formula with ever-changing variables. Lyrics that reflect both the simple and complex elements of life and imagination are bounced between and/or synchronized by Weiler and Martinkovitch.

Currently, The Covert Agency is recording their third release for Universal Warning Records but they were also featured on a UWR compilation release (Halloween 2001) entitled The Warning Comp. Joining them: The Jazz June, Sadaharu, No on 15, and several others. As long as these three sons-a-bitches continue to collaborate unconsciously, new music will manifest.
