Centurian
Centurian formed in January 1997 from the smoldering remains of the Thrash/Death metal band Inquisitor. Drummer Wim van der Valk and guitar player Rob Oorthuis decided to continue the band with a new name, updating their musical style to a very fast and aggressive extreme metal. Soon after, the band was completed by vocalist Seth van de Loo and bass player Patrick Boley and they recorded their first CD entitled Of Purest Fire. This CD proved to be very successful, receiving many good reviews and led to some nice offers from record labels. Helped by a very well-organized promotion campaign, the first pressing of the CD sold out in a matter of weeks and Centurian started to roam the stages along with bands such as Krisiun, Marduk, God Dethroned, Sinister, and many others. Centurian earned a reputation for playing extremely fast and with hellish fury during their live gigs. With the release of their full length CD, Choronzonic Chaos Gods, in 1999, Centurian definitely placed themselves at the top of the extreme metal scene. Featuring nine violent and fast tracks of brutal metal terror, the album has a front cover made by guitar player Rob, painted in his own blood! During that summer, Centurian made their first appearance in the US at the Milwaukee Metal Fest. In early 2000, Wim and Rob decided to move on without Seth and Patrick. Jerry Brouwer (vocals/bass) and Oskar van Paradijs (guitar) were soon found. Both new members were very familiar with Centurians occult and destructive ideas and they proved their worth during the recording of the new album Liber Zar Zax. With this new release, Centurian strike hard into the underbelly of humanity. 333 Triple Death and Dispersion!!!
