Goliath

Goliath is the brianchild of Mick Rowe. Originally hailing from Indiana, Rowe (at a towering, tattooed 6' 4") has been writing and recording music for some time now. With Kiss, Black Sabbath and Alice Cooper as his influences, Rowe began playing instruments in 1984 after hearing Motley Crue. Rowe's original project, Tempest released two albums on Pure Metal records in the late 80's. Rowe soon grew tired of the music scene and trends and started a quest to write music that honestly expressed his innermost feelings, both good and dark. Rowe originally started this musical and spiritual journey under the name Midnight Orchestra and through the internet and found that there were more and more people that were relating to his music. Courtesy of these kindered spirits, Midnight Orchestra (and eventually Goliath) virtually ruled the MP3.com charts for a year's time--the Goliath track "The Gate" still sits atop the MP3.com Doom/Stoner chart.

Goliath soon joined the cutting edge record label, E-Magine Entertainment. They recorded the basic tracks with Bob Moore at Soundlab (Nile) in October and put them on the back burner for a while as their deal with E-Magine was not coming to fruitation as was planned. In the meantime, Rowe put down tracks with demo vocals and posted them on MP3.com after just 24 hrs they were #1 in the Doom/Stoner catagory. Unfortunately, the untimely demise of the label left Goliath in search of a new home. The Music Cartel quickly stepped in and signed the band to a deal.

In an ironic twist, Rowe's passion for all that is dark is complimented by his strong belief in Christianity. "All horror films inspire me and I also really dig the Bible--a lot of the stories in there could be horror films. Christ was the defining word in power." This classic struggle between good and evil transcends space and time and manages to manifest itself in the musical compositions of Goliath...
