Gigantor

When Jenzz Gallmeyer decided to form GIGANTOR in 1991, he already knew at that moment that there was a legacy to fulfill. Originally a comic strip hero in Japan during the 1950's "GIGANTOR" The space age robot developed into an American cartoon cult figure by the mid 60s bigger than big, taller than tall, quicker than quick, stronger than strong ready to fight for right against wrong.

"Magic Bozo Spin!" the debut full length CD was released in 1993, followed by "It's Gigantic!"- The Singles 1992-1994", a massive 21-song collection. Split singles with LA's Youth Brigade, Down By Law and Goober Patrol earned more international interest as the boys continue to play the German clubs in preperation for thier first Japaneese tour in March 95. Upon returning home, GIGANTOR began recording thier 3rd album "Atomic!" with the knowledge that Gagu would be soon taking time off to work on a solo album in his native German language. The band continued with a variety of recordings and special guests including MSG guitarist Spencer Servombe, professional wrestler Maxx Payne, Dickies lead singer Leonard Graves Phillips and a host of others.

Two stories in 1997 that were totally unrelated: Gagu returned to GIGANTOR to begin recording thier 4th album "The 100 Club" and Olli Perau went on to become Playgirl Magazine's Man of the Year. The band started thier own label for vinyl releases, and toured Germany with the Dickies and Rancid.

By 1999, Guitarist Nico moved to othe interests. His replacement, Andreas Mertens joined the rest of the band in the studio where they were preparing songs for more split singles, this time with ADZ, The Stepmothers and Mr. T Expirience, plus tributes to Slayer and Agent Orange before getting down to record the 5th GIGANTOR album "Back to the Rockets!" It surprised everyone and became the bands most popular album to date. The single "Asia No Junshin" (sung in authentic Japanese lyrics) became a radio favorite. Now you can witness the action too, in the video for "Asia No Junshin." So strap yourself in and prepare for blast off!
