Revocation | review | metal | Lollipop
release date: 8/5/2013
by Mike Delano
Boston metal band Revocation gained a reputation for their technical prowess after 2011's Chaos of Forms, but unlike most bands with the "tech metal" label (read: Can outplay anyone but can't write a song to save their lives), these guys actually had some great hooks and songs that stuck with you. That trend continues on their self-titled 2013 album, and they continue to be ascendant in the metal scene. The album as a whole is a bit more brutal (for better and worse) than the rock-ier vibe of "The Hive," but this song is nonetheless an excellent representation of Revocation's enviable talent.
This is not a review, really, just a lil preview blurb. See more previews here.
