Letlive

The Blackest Beautiful (Epitaph Records)
release date: 6/4/2013
by Scott Hefflon

Pop raps (remember 311? No?) and Linkin Park clean vocals offset with screaming and metal groove are a mix bound to sell. While the lyrics sound like high school notebook scribbles, the production and style of "Banshee (Ghost Fame)" is darn addictive. While not every lyricist needs to be a genius social/political wordsmith, there's already more than enough bad emo poetry and empty slogan-spouting set to crunching guitars, so perhaps Letlive could, ya know, read a little more instead of posing for moody photos, and they might just really lead the people somewhere.
