Divinity

Allegory (Nuclear Blast)
by Scott Hefflon

A helluva debut from this Canadian metal band. A mix of thrash, death, and prog, they shred, the vocals roar then soar warblingly, harmonize with the best of them, then trip you up like Meshuggah and few others can. Kinda hard to get a real fix on who THEY are in all the styles presented, but seeing as they execute each with talent and sincerity, this mixed bag is worth listening to end to end and back again. New band, a bland name, but try to remember it, cuz if there's any justice in this world, this band'll be playing with a lot of bands yer going to see anyway. Show up early and try to keep your jaw from repeatedly hitting the floor.
