Tystnaden

In Our Eye (Renaissance)
by Scott Hefflon

Second release, first I've heard, of this Italian band with the clunky name. Like Lacuna Coil, there are strong female vocals, and awful male counterpart. And similarly, the songs are pretty simple Gothic metal with plenty of spooky/sweet intros, followed by "ka-chunk" riffs so you know the headbanging part is coming. Self-produced, a little "right there" (no creeping fog or shadows hiding secrets, just a bright and shiny upfront sound), and a good opening band for any of the glut of female-fronted Gothic metal bands who're mostly pretty interchangeable.

This is not a review, really, just a lil preview blurb. See more previews here.
