Mötley Crüe

Carnival of Sins Live (Eleven Seven Music)
By Michael McCarthy

I could be mistaken, but I'm pretty sure that this double live album was previously available as two discs sold separately exclusively at Walmart with all the swear words erased. But even if you did buy those discs at Walmart, you'll want to buy this anyway so you can finally hear the-motherfucking-Crüe cussing. Because, let's face it, nobody on this planet says fuck as often as Tommy Lee. It's just a fact, people. And Nikki Sixx and Vince Neil can't be far behind on the top 20 list of frequent profanity users. The only reason you won't find guitarist Mick Mars on such a list is that he doesn't like to say much. But when he does, it's like the devil talking: Everyone shuts up and does what he says. Which, right now, I suppose would be to buy this album. I'm just guessing though. Things are kind of screwball in the world of Mötley Crüe right now. Nobody is even sure if Tommy Lee is in or out of the band at the moment. The other guys are supposedly suing management for putting Tommy's interests above those of the band, and he supposedly quit over this or got fired, and it all depends on who you ask or whose lawyers you talk to and yada, yada, yada. Chill and repeat as necessary. It's like when Vince Neil quit - or, again, got fired, depending on who ya ask - 14 years ago. Anyway, one thing is for certain: Somehow, Vince Neil survived plastic surgery, Tommy Lee fled college, Nikki put aside his latest side project, and Mick came out of hip surgery just fine and they fucking rocked the house at the top of their game in Grand Rapids, MI on April 27, 2005 and this is a virtually flawless show featuring all of their biggest hits and lesser known gems, both old and new, and a must for even the casual Crüe fan. Fuckin' A!
