Between The Buried And Me

The Silent Circus (Victory)
by Adrian Bromley

When it comes to bands like Between The Buried And Me, where there's a lot going on at the same time (in this case, proggy rock moments, death metal intensity, and hardcore breakdowns), a lot of listeners lose interest as the band is not capable of keeping a fluid momentum going amongst the chaos. BTBAM do not have this problem, cuz despite the aural carnage inflicted upon our ears (lessened at times because of the melodic/spaced-out rock ideas), BTBAM know how to juggle multiple reins and not lose control. I'm confident the music and ideas in the hands of a less experienced band would've been a nightmare.
