The Streetwalkin' Cheetahs

Maximum Overdrive (Alive/Bomp)
by Craig Regala

Guitar rock/rock and roll squeezing the big 1970 Dee-troit pimple until it sploooies all over rockers everywhere. They cover their heroes that dug what they dug (Radio Birdman, Dead Boys), as well as those pre-punk icons the Dictators, and clueless duh-rockers the Runaways. The real reason to get this reissued classic is the buncha speedy rockers that woulda put'm on bills with DMZ, Smack, The Fluid, The Lazy Cowgirls, Electric Frankenstein, or hell, The Hives (pronounced "hee-vays," if so inclined). Trust me, they've got some tunes in and around the rama-lamma-fa-fa-la-ding-dong. Rock on.
