Ghost Parade | Dying Breed | review | rock | Lollipop
Dying Breed is brooding modern alt-rock with dark sprinkles of Goth and darkwave. Lead singer Autumn's vocals sound very much like a sonic kaleidoscope of a dash of David Bowie, David Byrne, and Peter Murphy. Dying Breed is a perfect soundtrack for an endless and stormy night spent recovering from a numbing self-induced intoxication.
Noteworthy tracks include the title track, "Strangle," "Killing Sara," and a Neil Diamond cover, "Love on the Rocks." The lyrics are pointed, and with an insight that strikes at the heart with refreshing truth. Ghost Parade has come a long way with this, their sophomore effort.
If you listen to fellow Portland, Oregon bands The Prids and Sumerland, you'll enjoy Ghost Parade.
