Hysterical & Useless: Revised & Updated
By Martin Clarke
by Tim Den

A chronology/biography/documentary of Radiohead that, at barely 200 pages, only scrapes the surface of the beast. Descriptions of significant events and songwriting process are vague and often summed up in a sentence or two, lacking the depth and analysis of the much better Exit Music (by Mac Randall). However, there is enough information here – however shallow – to educate the Radiohead neophyte. So if you've been living under a rock for the past ten years and never got the chance to hear/read about the post-OK Computer trauma or the humble, dorky Oxford beginnings of arguably the most important rock band of the last decade, you could do worse than starting here.
