Tiger Army

Early Years EP (Hellcat)
by Scott Hefflon

Early Years EP is exactly what the title states, six out-of-print or unreleased tracks from Tiger Army's early days ('96 and '97), including Eddie Cochran's "Twenty Flight Rock" and the Misfit's "American Nightmare." Many of these tunes appeared in later forms on their debut on Hellcat, but here are the rockabilly/psychobilly originals. Probably mostly of interest to die-hard fans as a sneak peek at the early days, Tiger Army is a fine band, a great show, and you should check out their self-titled CD and II: Power of Moonlite if you like the good Reverend Horton Heat. One of the few psychobilly bands worth listening to.
