Behemoth

Zos Kia Cultus (Here and Beyond) (Olympic/Century Media)
by Tim Den

Apocalyptic, thick-as-a-brick-wall death metal like the crushing Domination by Morbid Angel. I was surprised by how good this album sounded, considering I didn't like the previous release at all. Other moments remind me of mighty newcomers Aeon, which isn't surprising since both obviously have a deep love for the "FL sound" (Deicide, Cannibal Corpse, etc.). Incredible production, with occasional dramatic keyboard flourishes, Zos Kia Cultus (Here and Beyond) is totally devastating.
