Freedom Call

Eternity (SPV)
by Scott Hefflon

Top-notch heavy metal with killer guitarwork, layered harmonies, warbling vocals (really Helloween/Gamma Ray-sounding, with just a touch of Queensÿchian melodrama), and a ballad, for the girls. Anthemic and proud, more Manowar warrior than LOTR skipping, though there's plenty of open shirts and long hair blowing in the cool mountain air, strong jaws thrust defiantly and all that woo-ha. "Land of Light" sounds frighteningly like Europe's "The Final Countdown," in case you need to be hit over the head with it.
