Flowing Tears

Serpentine (Century Media)
by Scott Hefflon

Following in the footsteps of The Gathering and Lacuna Coil, To/Die/For and Entwine, and plenty of other Gothic metal bands, Flowing Tears swirl and twirl on the smoke-filled dancefloor (not that they play anything so metal in the Goth clubs 'round these parts), but they fail to engage me. Lullacry is more ballsy rock and Entwine is more gloriously sad (and I tend to gravitate more toward the more vicious/angelic dynamic of Tristania or a handful of other worthies), but I don't really care much for Lacuna Coil or The Gathering or Within Temptation and plenty do, so take my "Oh, who cares?" with a grain of salt, a shot of tequila, and remember to tip your bartenders well.
