Kataklysm

Epic: The Poetry of War (Nuclear Blast)
by Tim Den

Sounding like Bolt Thrower and Arch Enemy combined (except with more blastbeats than those two could ever muster), the crazy Canucks of Kataklysm are back with yet another slice of kinda-melodic, well-produced, exploding-at-the-seams death metal. Not better or worse than your usual bag o' riffs, Epic (The Poetry of War) is nonetheless a "blast" (ha ha) to crank because of its resonating production. More bands should pay this kind of attention in the studio.
