The Marbles

Seduction (Break-Up)
by Scott Hefflon

Being a guy, I like chicks. And skinny, blonde rocker chicks in fur or leather or leopard print skirts and tall black boots do it for me. Then you get to what some might think important, that she can sing. Sure, it's all light, airy, '80s New Wave pop meets '50s tough girl rock, but it's got fingersnapping paces, handclaps, simple harmonies and basic structures you can follow by the end of the song. While Bif Naked writes significantly better tunes, well, ya gotta start somewhere... And I miss New York Loose and wish there were more bands like them. You could do a lot worse than having a few drinks with friends at a club where The Marbles are playing.
