Love History

Anasazi (The End)
by Paul Lee

Either their name is a stroke of obscure genius for a progressive, doom/death metal band, or it's a lame leftover moniker and they couldn't think of a better one. Either way, Love History rocks with loads of talent and hits a lot harder and weirder than their name would suggest. Anasazi is a complex and mind-warping debut that combines the intricacy of old Rush, the keyboards of Deep Purple, clean and harsh vocals, and the heaviness and power of old My Dying Bride. Despite a production lacking in dynamics, Anasazi avoids the Goth metal cliches and contains plenty of melodic twists and turns. The inclusion of Czech folk melodies adds interesting flavors to this unique stew of metal. This is an opus to experience when you need a break from your purely evil listening addictions.
