Extreme Noise Terror

Being and Nothing (Candlelight)
by Tim Den

Forever the most appropriately named grindcore band, Extreme Noise Terror hasn't changed much since the heyday of mid-'80s England. They left the metamorphisizing to Napalm Death and Carcass, choosing to stick with the ol' "bludgeon them to death with blastbeats" routine. Being and Nothing is just that: it suffocates you with speed and distortion 'til you wonder "Jesus, did I really like this to begin with?" Early Earache fans take note: here's some more stuff that sounds just like Scum and From Enslavement to Obliteration.
