Avail

One Wrench (Fat)
by Tim Den

It doesn't matter what I say, Avail will always sell records. I've never been a diehard fan like every other kid, but I don't doubt their ability to rouse a crowd into a frenzy (how the hell else are they able to sell out every show they play?). One Wrench is not much different from their earlier stuff: punk anthems with occasional melodies, classic hardcore breakdown parts, "emo" sentimentality, and a kind of roughneck vibe that only old country singers can top. They can get you to jump, shout along, and cry for your "brotherhood." You just have to get it.
