Fury of Five

This Time it's Personal (Victory)
by Tim Den

Fury Of Five is the proud winner of the "First Tough Guy Band I Don't Slam" award. Don't ask me why, I just like these guys. I know it's hard to justify affection for a testosterone-filled, bat-and-sword-wiedling bunch, but, goddammit, this shit is fun to blast. Maybe they'd disagree, but there's an underlying sense of fun to their jumping-around, hard rock-embedded, shouting-catchy-phrases hardcore. Lots of bands claim to mix hip-hop, metal, rock, and hardcore, but Fury Of Five actually does it without sounding contrived. Double-bass thunder and Snapcase-harmonics, along with clean singing once in a while are the kind of tricks these guys use to make every song different. Finally, a tough guy band that doesn't have to intimidate people into liking their music.
